Hey. I'm Chad.
So I’m an Entrepreneur, Coach, Speaker, & Writer dedicated to helping you Be Great Being You.
Born in St. Thomas Virgin Islands, I came to this country, on a raft, with nothing more than my passion for coaching and a dream! (Just kidding) To be honest, I’m kind of a misfit. I am, what my digital mentor would call, multi-passionate.
I have spent my life as a serial entrepreneur. No matter what I’ve done, I’ve always had a business. I’ve been involved in everything from restaurants to technology. The one thing that I was always lacking was a purpose.
At my heart, I am a maker. For the longest time, my greatest focus was making music. And I loved every minute of it! I’ve toured overseas. I’ve had two record deals, but none of it brought me the satisfaction I was really yearning for. So I switched to making digital art. As a designer I’ve worked on projects for companies like Sony, Gap, & American Airlines, just to name a few.
One thing I’ve always loved is connecting with people. Connection is one of my languages. It’s how I’m wired. I’ve helped countless entrepreneurs find their voice, build their brand, and connect with their audiences. But connecting with people didn’t always mean connecting with success. For the longest time, I thought something was wrong with me.
But that’s the thing about purpose. It doesn’t matter how hard you try. If you are not doing the thing you were created to do, it just won’t come together. Somehow, the pieces just won’t fit. You can get close, but something will always be missing. I was doing okay, but I wasn’t doing great. I WASN’T GREAT.
Greatness seemed like this far off mystical land that I had no idea how to reach. And it took me years to figure out that greatness is a journey, not a destination. I realized that purpose leads to greatness.
That journey can be a long one. And the first step to greatness can be summed up in one word. Better.
I want to be better, than I am right now, at everything. My health, my money, my business, my leadership, my family, and my Self. It’s because you can’t do great until you do better. Greatness is found in small steps. You don’t become great doing the many, you become great doing the few.
If we let social media tell it, everyone around us is doing great. So what are we missing? What makes them better than me? Am I enough as I am? How can I be great being myself?
One of the latest cliché phrases that you hear is “being your best self”. The fastest way to be your best self is to face your real self first. Flaws and all. Once you can be honest with yourself about who you really are, then you can explore what your real strengths and weaknesses are. Where are your opportunities for growth? Where do you shine? What are the things that you love doing? What things would you love to hand off to other people to do for you?
Admitting who you really are is the first step to greatness. Because that knowledge gives you the power to build on your strengths; to work on your weaknesses.
